The Challenge
As a new user research platform entering a competitive market, we needed to build credibility and acquire users, particularly targeting UX researchers, solo founders, and product teams who would benefit from our tool.

Approach
I developed an integrated acquisition strategy that combined digital ads, community engagement, direct outreach, and strategic partnerships.
Community partnership program:
I identified and partnered with key UX research communities, developing a strategy that positioned Crowd as their preferred research tool. This involved:
- Creating exclusive offers for community members
- Developing co-branded educational content
- Participating in community events and discussions
- Providing specialized onboarding support for community members
LinkedIn engagement strategy:
I implemented a systematic approach to LinkedIn outreach that went beyond traditional cold messaging:
- Developed a list of UX researchers and product managers based on specific criteria
- Created personalized outreach messages that referenced their work and specific challenges
- Engaged meaningfully with thought leaders’ content, contributing valuable insights to discussions
- Built relationships through sustained, authentic interactions
Platform visibility campaign:
- Listed Crowd on BetaList, DevHunt, and other relevant platforms
- Created compelling product listings with clear value propositions
results
- Successfully acquired over 700 new users within six months.
- Gained recognition and endorsements from leading UX research influencers, including Nelson Nielman and Dan Winner, establishing Crowd as a credible player in the UX research tools space.
- Achieved consistent month-over-month growth in user sign-ups.
